We are a local NGO and see our mission in promoting sustainable local development and strengthening communities in order to improve the living conditions and quality of life for all people living in the area of Lushoto District.

Our general objective is to serve as a platform which assists the
local people in their process of developing their communities
and strengthens them to take up their responsibilities and
work together in order to step out of poverty.

We have chosen an integrative approach as the fundamental of our work and we want to get active within an extended field of activities. We defined 5 areas of work within our organisation which we consider as crucial for local community development

1. Communication, Networking and Infrastructure
2. Counselling, Social Work and Rights-awareness
3. Tourism
4. Agriculture and Ecology
5. Cultural Activities and Arts

Within these fields of activities we defined our sub-objectives and we try to achieve a close connection between all our project activities.
Exspecially tourism is an important tool for our work since we use it as a strategy and tool to link up our project activities.

TUPANDE Lushoto Usambara

Wir sind eine lokale Nicht-Regierungsorganisation und sehen unsere zentrale Aufgabe darin, nachhaltige lokale Entwicklung zu fördern und die Gemeinden/Gemeinschaften im Bezirk Lushoto/ Region Tanga/ Tanzania zu stärken um die Lebensbedingungen und die Lebensqualität aller BewohnerInnen des Bezirks zu verbessern.

Als Grundstein unserer Organisation haben wir einen integrativen Arbeitsansatz ausgewählt und möchten in verschiedenen Bereichen übergreifend tätig werden. Dazu haben wir fünf Schwerpunktbereiche definiert, die uns als besonders wichtig für positive lokale Entwicklungen erscheinen:

+ Kommunikation, Vernetzung und Infrastruktur
+ Soziales und Rechtsaufklärung
+ Tourismus
+ Landwirtschaft und Ökologie
+ Kunst und kulturelle Aktivitäten

In Kleinprojekten verbinden wir Aktivitäten in den genannten Bereichen und nutzen vor allem Tourismus als ein Instrument, um gemeinsam mit den Menschen aus Lushoto neue, kreative Wege für eine Verbesserung der Lebensbedingungen zu finden.
